I am a pastel artist primarily, although I have worked in other painting mediums like watercolor, gouache, oil, and acrylics. I enjoy the process of bringing an image to life through my work with the dry medium of pastels. I also use watercolor, gouache, alcohol inks, and acrylic paint as an underpainting, then I layer over that with pastels. I’m inspired by the photo references that I take during my travels and also enjoy painting from life. I paint a variety of genres but particularly enjoy landscape and figurative work. Since I started painting in pastel, when the pandemic started, I have been introduced to a new world of wonderful artists and interesting people. I even got to have lunch during our Scotland tour with another pastel artist I met online! Making art has become a new way of life for me.
